I am writing this from the road, currently on the Coast-to-Coast tour after having done the Italian Alps trip with this same team, because I do not want to wait another day to say what needs to be said about Luca, Richi, and RB Tour Italy. I have cycled and hiked all over Italy with the well-known large American tour operators, the ones with the glossy catalogues, the matching jerseys, and the big-budget marketing. I have also done one stay at one of the famous bicycling hotels around Verona, where guided rides are part of the package. Those trips were excellent in their own way, and I went home from each of them happy. But none of them prepared me for what a cycling holiday can actually be when it is run by two people who genuinely love their country, their craft, and the riders in their care. Nothing I have done before surpasses what is happening here, and I doubt anything will.

What sets RB Tour Italy apart is how unmistakably personal the experience is…

My husband, myself and two other couples designed a custom 8-day cycle tour in the Italian Alps, including the Dolomites, from September 10-18. Luca picked us up in Venice and dropped us in Lake Como. As a non-rider, I wasn't sure what to expect, and this tour exceeded my expectations...

...What set this experience apart was Luca's extraordinary flexibility and hospitality. He was ever accommodating and gracious, going above and beyond to ensure everyone enjoyed their experiences. He thoughtfully offered to drop me off and pick me up from nearby locations so I could explore and enjoy activities while my husband and friends were cycling. Our cycling club booked a custom tour with RBTI and we could not have been happier! They helped us design a tour of the Dolomites and the Alps around Bormio, and everything was exquisite. The accommodations were first rate and Luca took care of every detail, ensuring we had the best experience possible. We were treated like family and supported on ever level. The cost was very reasonable and well worth it for a custom tour. We even had a combination of riders and wives, and everyone felt taken care of. Bravo!!

...Our guides, Ricardo and Lorenzo, were true professionals — kind, organized, and always attentive to the needs of everyone in the group. Each morning began with incredible breakfast spreads, and every evening we sat down to gourmet dinners paired with delicious local wines.

Even when a bit of rain kept us off the bikes, the spa hotels made those days feel like a gift — massages, saunas, and heated pools to enjoy. We also met so many lovely people who shared the same joy of travel and cycling.

It was the perfect mix of adventure, comfort, and connection — I’m already planning my next eBike tour in Southern Italy! 🇮🇹💫

We had an unforgettable time on an 8-day cycling tour (6 days of riding) thanks to Luca, who attended to all our needs, was with us every step of the way and provided an amazing experience cycling in the Dolomites and the Alps. Breathtaking views, excellent routes and roads, great accommodations, wonderful food, the list goes on. I think Luca even made sure the weather was great too. We booked a private tour, we being 3 riders and 3 wives, which was perfect for a maximum 7-person van. Luca took pictures and videos throughout the tour, posted daily video montages and then provided all the media to us at the end of the trip. Luca is extremely friendly, serviceful and just all-around fun person. We immediately felt like we were long lost friends going on an adventure together. Luca: thank you for all you did for us and can't wait to go on another adventure led by you.

Amazing experience with Road Bike Tours Italy. This family run company organizes everything very well. Good quality e-bikes, wonderful hotels and great dinner spots. Every day we saw the hidden gems of Italy which most tourists never see. Challenging bike rides but totally doable with some training. Definitely planning another trip, hopefully with Ricci and Lorenzo again!

I wholeheartedly recommend Road Bike Tours Italy and Luca Ruggeri! In September 2025, my husband organized a custom eight-day cycling tour through the Dolomites and Alps with two of his biking friends. The wives joined the adventure too—though we didn’t bike, we were very much part of the experience.

Luca was exceptional. He made everyone feel cared for and was always available to answer questions, accommodate changes, and ensure every detail was just right. His warmth and attentiveness truly set the tone for the entire trip. The hotels were wonderful, complete with spa facilities that offered a welcome retreat, and the food—absolutely outstanding! I’ve never eaten so well in my life.

As a group of 6 friends, we did the "3 Lakes and More" tour with Road Bike Tours Italy. Most of us are novice cyclists, and had not done very long rides with climbs. Richie and Lorenzo kept our group together - a mix of e-bikes and traditional bikes. We were all amazed by the combination of gorgeous scenery, excellent accommodations, and curated dining experiences throughout the trip. Every dinner was exquisite! Our guides made us feel like we were their top priority. Many of us hope to return to do another trip with Luca and Richie. Thanks for helping us to love road cycling more than we ever could have imagined, and for providing fond memories that will last a lifetime.

I did the Lakes tour with my 3 sisters, and it was amazing. Luca was so helpful from the time of booking answering all our questions and helping us plan our trip. Our guide, Richi, and driver, Lorenzo were fantastic. They took such good care of us and were always focused on safety and rider comfort. We loved the small group size. The bikes (both regular and pedal-assist) were top notch. The scenery was, of course, spectacular. We enjoyed each day, our meals, and lodging immensely. I would highly recommend RBTIT to anyone considering a cycling trip and look forward to doing another itinerary in the future.

Fantastic custom trip with Luca (the owner) and his assistant Jon. Our family of 4 adults had two days along Lake Como and three days in Tuscany. Everything was taken care of, from pickup to a drop-off at our next destination.

The daily stages were well calibrated to our desire to see the scenery and get a bit of a workout, but not feel totally spent at day's end. The restaurants Luca chose for dinner were really standout. Our family had a blast.

The cycling up and down the hills was terrific. The Northern Lake region had jaw-dropping views, really spectacularly beautiful. Our guides Luca and Jon were very attentive and funny. We were taken care of during the horrible rainy days we had. Most hotels were terrific, with one where there was a fire alarm incident and there was no manager on site which created unpleasant results. We mostly had delicious food with occasionally not great lunch options. Several dinners were exceptional.

I would highly recommend Road Bike Tours Italy to anyone remotely interested in a cycling trip in Europe. The experience was top-notch from arrival to departure. I went with a group of 7 friends on the Three Lakes and More tour. We weren't sure exactly what to expect, but everything this group did exceeded our expectations.

The planned route was gorgeous and offered many stretches with little to no motor vehicles to share the road with and a quiet riding experience. Our guides were Richi and Eduardo and both were amazing. Eduardo led our group on the rides each day and he was in constant communication with Richi, who drove the van and stopped periodically to take pictures of the group or to assist with removing a layer, refiling our hydration bottles, etc. Eduardo kept us safe and the group together while riding. Both guides were personable and passionate, sharing information on cycling and Italian culture and scenic or historical points of note...

I went on Road Bike Tours Italy's trip to the Lake District and it was wonderful experience from beginning to end! The routes were challenging and the scenery was spectacular....it was everything that I hoped it would be. The owner Luca is friendly, warm, informative, and well organized. Robi, the riding guide and former pro racer was also great and helpful. It is Italy so of course the food, wine, and coffee were delicious! As someone who joined the trip on my own I was made to feel very welcomed and supported. I highly recommend the company and look forward to another trip with them whenever I return to Italy!

My wife Heidi and I rode with 5 other friends on the Lakes Tour in October 2024 with our guides Luca and Robi. This is our second trip with Road Bike Tours as we rode in Tuscany last fall and had a great time. This year it was more of the same, we had an amazing time and thank Luca and Robi for a wonderful outing. The best parts of our tour included:

- Luca and Robi helping everyone get their bikes ready, making sure the fit was correct and we had all of our other gear in order. They were patient and helpful and whenever someone needed an adjustmen they were quick to make it happen.

- We reviewed the route each morning and both guides would talk about sections where we mght need to slow down or be ready to regroup (tunnels, busier stretches of road, climbs & descents...

I can't say enough positive things about our experience with Road Bike Tours Italy. We did the Northern Italy 3 lakes tour with Richi and Eduardo. Everything was perfectly curated by Luca and Richi. Not only is everything planned for you, but it's essentially a white glove service when it comes to things like bike prep/post ride bike storage, bike maintenance, getting luggage loaded up/unpacked, etc. The rides also offered a great balance of flats around the lakes and challenging climbs in the mountains. The hotels were lovely and we had fantastic meals each evening.

Richi was always one step ahead with suggesting activities in between scheduled events (i.e., taking us into whatever town center we were near to explorer before dinner), and things like being positioned to be ready to remind us that we should add another layer at the top of the climb for the epic descent that followed, being available to provide during ride support, and taking great photos throughout. Eduardo was our cycling guide and he provided expert on road leadership. He was attune to everything going on with our group and around us, and instilled great confidence as we rode (and added relevant and interesting facts/information along the way).

Did the "Three Lakes Cycling Tour" through Road Bike Tours Italy with a group of 7 friends total. It was an amazing experience from start to finish. The tour itself took us to Lake Maggiore, Lake Como and Lake Iseo. The routes were great, with some challenging climbs, including a climb to the Ghissalo Cycling Shrine and museum. We rode a small portion into Switzerland on day 2, so it was a bonus to ride in two countries over the five days of our tour.

Our guide, Eduardo ("Eddo") cycled with us the whole time and led us on our routes while his colleague Ricchi drove the van. Both of them were extremely pleasant, courteous and helpful, even assisting with our luggage every day when we loaded and unloaded at our different stops. ..

We just finished the Three Lakes Tour with Luca and Robbie. The trip was top notch from start to finish. They truly care about the client experience at Road Bike Tours, Italy. From the initial bike fitting, to the bike routes, to the hotels and dinners, you are attended to. Your safety is a top concern. Robbie was our biking guide and Luca was always around with the van in case you needed something or were done riding for the day. The size of the group was perfect. We will definitely be back for another biking holiday with Road Bike Tours, Italy.

We had 10 day cycling holiday starting in Tuscany,moving to Lake Como and then to Bormeo in the Italian Alps. Every aspect of the trip was first class.

The bikes were high quality,the support vans clean ,the accomodation was excellent and the guides Richi,Lorenzo and and Roberto(for the first half of the trip) were fantastic. The trip exceeded our expectations and we are already planning our next adventure with RB Tours Italy.

When I booked this tour I could see from the pictures on line that it was going to be pretty outstanding but actually cycling around the three lakes was one of the most amazing things I have ever done! The long hills were a bit of a challenge for me and my husband as we hadn’t ever cycled long ascents before but we really enjoyed doing them and would love to do it again!

We were a family of four on this trip, made up of parents ages 58 and 72 and two adult children; joined by Paul, an energetic 82 year old Australian gentleman who had just come from a week of cycling in Tuscany. Of the five guests I was the only one on a road bike; the others opted for electric bikes. I found two of the days challenging with fairly long and steep climbs, but a breeze if you're on an electric.
